2019 History Symposium a Success! In partnership with the Illinois State University Department of History, the Regional Office of Education #17, and the McLean County Museum of History, our Mid-winter symposium was a grand success. Highlighted by an engaging keynote by Dr. Kathy Swan, this symposium brought history and social science professionals together for learning, collaboration, and socialization. NCSS FASSE Report The Funds for the Advancement of Social Studies Education support three awards programs for social studies educators; The $2500 Christa McAuliffe Reach for the Stars Award is granted annually to help classroom teachers develop innovative social studies projects with their students. The CUFA-FASSE Social Studies Inquiry Grant funds up to $10,000 (when funds permit) to support inquiry in citizenship education. The IA-FASSE International Understanding Grant funds up to $5,000 (when funds permit) to support collaborative projects that enhance international relationships and global perspectives.
