The ICSS Quarterly, an editor reviewed publication of the Illinois Council for the Social Studies, is accepting submissions.
With a focus on practice, ICSS Quarterly invites lesson plans, social studies resource reviews, effective strategies and classroom practices, descriptions of community resources of interest to social studies teachers, and other information intended for social studies educators and those interested in social studies in general. In-service teachers, pre-service teachers, teacher educators, social scientists in the field, those connected with social studies-related organizations, education consultants, and others with unique ideas, lessons, resources, or viewpoints to offer are enthusiastically encouraged to submit their ideas for consideration for publication.
Submissions are generally between 750 and 2000 words, although the editors may consider varying lengths, based on individual needs. Shown below are templates for general articles and lesson plans that you may use in your submission. All submissions will be closely reviewed by an editor before publication. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact one of our co-editors; Dr. Fred Isele, at [email protected] or Dr. Ben Wellenreiter, at [email protected].
